Nativity

Aren't these kiddos cute?! Troy wanted to break out the many nativity scenes that we have and play with Penelope. First thing Nellie did? Break baby Jesus. Maybe it was a bad idea for Mom to bring down the ceramic ones as well....

December 23, 2012. Tanner loses his first tooth! He wiggled the heck out of that little tooth and Mom helped him pull it out! Christmas Eve morning he woke to find that the tooth fairy left him a crisp $2 bill. The only mistake the tooth fairy made? She left the bill covered in glitter. Tanner wasn't too happy about that. He kept telling his Dad and Mom that he knew the money wasn't real and he wanted to go buy something with his new cash. Little stinker. 

Santa & Shopping

"Please! Stay! Just one picture!"

Penelope's first time seeing/sitting with Santa and she hated it. She was throwing her body all over the place. So was Troy. He, however, was flailing all over the place with a smile on his face. Tanner was just glad there wasn't any more room on his lap for him to sit :)

This was about the time Dad was making bets with Tanner and Troy...

Troy's wind up. He chucked that coin clear across the room. We were done after that.

I told the boys before purchasing these hats that they "better wear them. daily." They both promised me that they were "so awesome and would keep them warm", so I gave in. 

(sigh..)

A girl needs good shoes!

Our Penelope sure loves to try on shoes. My shoes. Troy shoes. Her growing shoe collection. She's discovered, though, that Dad's are a tad too big for her right now.

Traditional or Online?

Although there are pro's and con's to attending a traditional classroom, as well as an online setting, it takes real dicipline to take classes online.  I've been a student of both and I realized that although I learned more about books in a traditional class I learned more about time management and self dicipline by taking online courses.

It's very easy to let yourself slack when taking online courses.  If you had a history class at a college and it started at 10:00am then you would have to have your homework completed by then.  For an online class it just needs to be done by midnight more often than not.  Also, it's easy not to go to class for online courses; you simply don't log in for the day.  There's no one there to make you stand up in class and read your paper so it's imperative that you pressure yourself to get things done on time.

I personally enjoyed the experience of an online setting, but still prefer the immediate feedback I can get from a teacher and classmates in a traditional classroom setting.
