5 More Days!!!

We can't believe we ONLY have five days until we're loading the kids in the car and making our way to good ole Pueblo, CO! We're all so anxious to see our family. It's been so long since we've seen most of them. I'm especially anxious for everyone to meet our little ballerina {doesn't she look like a ballerina today, in that adorable outfit?!}. We've been packing our bags and getting everything ready! We can't wait!!!!

Bean bags and sack

This is part of one of Troy's Christmas presents. I made him the bean bags for a "toss game". I'm excited to get started on the board for it; I'll post the picture of it when I've finished. Check out the tutorial.

Penelope Jane: 3 Months

• length: 23 1/4 in. (45th percentile)

Doctor said our little Sweet Pea is growing excellent! Nice and plump :) Poor Miss, however, had to get three shots and was not a happy camper. I couldn't blame her. She's been sleeping like a log the past couple of days (since that traumatic doctor visit). I've had to go in and actually wake her a few times to get her to eat. She's still as happy as can be though. Forever smiling! I decided to check out some of my past posts and see just how much she had grown. I'm so depressed now. My girl has officially doubled in size. She gets more and more beautiful every time I look at her and is more and more loved with each kiss to her cheek. I took a "then" and "now" picture to further my depression show how much our little girlie has changed {well not really changed, the same pretty baby, just chunked up!} since birth.

Tanner got one of his Christmas presents early... He really needed it. It turned out better than I planned and he is so pleased with it! I'm pretty proud of my job-well-done too!

11.7.11 A pretty random post

Miss Penelope has been up a lot more. Not grumpy or fussy. Just very content. Her favorite spot to be? Lying on her boppy in the living room, checking everything out. She is such a good baby. Did you realize that our little girl is just two days away from being three months?! It makes me sad. No matter how hard I try to stop it, she keeps getting older. She's been waking more often at night to eat, but she's growing, so that makes sense. She's absolutely in love with her big brother Tanner. Pretty much terrified of her big brother Troy. And fascinated with that furry dog that keeps trying to lick her toes. As soon as she hears Mom talk she's up looking around for her food. And her Daddy is her love. He's the only one that gets her to blush and laugh like crazy.

My motivation to do anything and everything is gone. Zip. Zilch. Not here. On laundry day, the couch usually starts off with a small mound {of clean clothes} like the one below and slowly gets bigger and bigger. It will sit there for a few days {getting closer and closer to the next cleaning day} until I finally decide they should probably get folded and put away.

I did, however, work up the energy to pull out every bit of my sewing stuff to start on Christmas projects. I have a bunch of goodies lined up for the boys for the holiday. {It's my favorite time of year!} Thank goodness for my crock pot. Between Blogger, Pinterest, and sewing, if it wasn't for that crock pot, my family wouldn't ever be fed dinner.

Some more Penelope news: Yes, she is the topic of conversation most days. I get a lot of comments like "Look at those cheeks! She's not missing any meals!" Well, it turns out, she has been missing meals! I was telling Adam that she seems to be hungry all the time, even right after nursing. So, last night, after her fussing and crying, I decided to fix her a bottle of formula. That hit the spot! She gobbled it up, didn't even hesitate. I was so happy I figured out what she needed, but a little bummed I'm not supplying enough for her.

Carving pumpkins

The boys and I carved pumpkins year. Dad had to work, which was a huge bummer. I'm dang proud of how my (er, I mean, Penelope's) pumpkin turned out. Tanner did all the drawing and cutting himself on his pumpkin. His is obviously a robot, with a T and Tan carved out next to it. Troy did some drawing on his pumpkin but needed a little assistance when it came to the cutting. His only request? A nose. So, yes, his jack-o-lantern got a nose. (And yes, that's MY son outside on the cold cement in chilly October weather without his shirt on.)

My first (and last) Kindergarten Party

I decided to sign up and throw Tanner's Kindergarten class a Halloween party. I was stressed beyond belief prepping for the party, setting up the party, AND throwing the party. It's the last party that I plan to throw this year. The kids loved all the decorations and seemed to enjoy the games I had planned so it was all worth it. I must admit that I thought Kindergarten would be different... for me. I thought the parents would be super involved, super friendly, and super fun. Um, no. Long story short, I encountered my first mean mom. (You know, like Mean Girls, only this isn't high school anymore.) This was not my first encounter with a mean mom, but my first with a mean classroom mom. To her, my party was not up to par and she let me know it. She thought my decorations (refer to pictures below) were dangerous and the party was unorganized. She offered her own advice and told me how the party should have gone. Well, of course, I was devastated. I really did go to so much work to put it all together. Penelope was livid to hear this. So livid in fact, she stormed through her closet and well, since she can't quite form the words herself, found a shirt that said exactly what she was thinking.

Believe it or not we did not buy this shirt for this post. 

We were actually gifted this when Miss Penelope was born.

Trunk or treating was a blast with Ryan and Jessica and their little kiddos. It was a perfect ending to a terrific day!
