Racer's Quilt

Yes, I'm continuing my rounds with gifts to the nieces and nephews. This quilt is for little Racer; complete with motorcycles. All boy :)

my hands and fingers are freakishly long! it's bothering me looking at these pictures

I have been hard at work measuring, pinning, cutting, ironing. And loving every minute of it. I've even got another quilt lined up with super cute fabric!!

all fabric found at Walmart

Isn't the stitching fun?! I love how it turned out. It really shows on the gray.

"Mean White Duck"

We went to feed the ducks yesterday. It was freezing so I wanted to snap a few pics and sit in the warm car with Penelope. The fellas, however, wanted to fish (Adam), chase ducks, throw rocks into the lake, check out the scenery.... Everything was fun until this stinkin' goose tried to attack Troy and I. I was in heels, of course, and this goose saw me as an easy target. Poor Troy got scared to death when it ran after us. I was honestly scared too. Adam thought it was all pretty amusing. Troy now tells us over and over how the "mean white duck" chased him.

Ona's Quilt

I have made and finished my very first quilt! I'm so excited about it and not to boast too much, I think it looks awesome! I love the fabrics together!

This quilt was made especially for a new, little niece of ours. Little Miss Ona. Welcome to the world!

Our very own Busy Bag

I've been finding the cutest Busy Goodies for the boys. Busy books. Busy Bags. Etc.

I love the Busy Bag idea and now we finally have one of our own. This will hopefully keep the boys a little more quiet during Sacrament :)

We dumped the toy box and emptied the junk drawer to find little nic-nacs to put in our bag. Then we filled it with rice and now we can go searching for our goodies. I just need to print off the picture of the "finds" and throw it in our bag for church and car rides!

p.s. The ziploc is just temporary until I'm able to make/buy a bag. I've really stressed, to the boys, to please, please, PLEASE! not open the bag!!

Glue, Salt & Watercolors keeps them busy

I found this craft and since I had everything on hand, we spent part of our day drawing designs, then tracing it in Elmer's glue, covering it with salt and then dripping watercolors on it and watching the colors spread. It kept the boys very entertained. Especially Troy, he loves bringing out the paints.

Sweetie

Imagine all the hair I'd have!!!

Ok, so yes, I know. You probably don't want to see this, but it amazes me every time and I wanted to share. I had to "de-clog" the vac the other day....

We (and by WE, I mean Adam.. he's a good man) also have to de-clog the bathroom drain every couple of months. You REALLY don't want to see that one. But all grossness aside, seriously!!, think of all the hair I'd have if it didn't fall out like crazy!!

Homemade Playdoh

Auntie Tawnya helped the boys make their very own playdoh! They were all so excited to use the cookie cutters and cut out different shapes. Troy has pulled it all out every day since. He LOVES playdoh! Cohen has played with it a lot too... he's even found out that it doesn't taste too good, but keeps going back for more! :) What were Mom and Auntie Tera thinking adding vanilla to make it smell nice and yummy?!!!

Thanks Auntie Tawnya for the fun craft!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We MUSTACHE you to be our Valentine!
By far, my favorite Valentine ever!!

I sadly didn't get really any good pictures of Tanner on V-day or at his class party, but I did snap a shot of the cute Valentine's we made for his friends at school.

Showing off another do....

Thanks to another great tutorial, look what I did today!

I love it!

Sunny Day + Cooped Up Kids = Park

Tanner and Troy had a blast riding their toys up and especially down the walk way at the park.

Penelope wasn't too sure about the hard, winter grass. Not much fun to touch.

It snowed so much today, however, we may just have some sledding pictures to put on here soon :)

Penelope Jane: 6 Months

Where has the time gone? Really?? It was six whole months ago that this little girl first entered the world and now she's already half way to a year old?! She brings so much joy to our lives each and every day. She's so sweet, so precious, just absolutely perfect. Yes, she does have her mommy wrapped around her chubby, little fingers. Currently, at 6 Months Old:

  • Rolls from back to stomach. Hasn't quite gotten the hang of rolling back onto her back.
  • Loves her Avocado!
  • Wakes up anywhere from 3 to 5 times a night.
  • Loves to squeal.
  • LOVES to be tickled.
  • Has one of the most amazing sounding laughs I've ever heard.
  • Loves to get a bath, but hates to be lotioned up.
  • Drools like a saint bernard
  • Loves the fish tank and seeing herself in mirrors.
  • Has a red tint to her hair like her mommy.
  • Loves to wrestle toys/stuffed animals much bigger than she is.
  • Weight: approx. 19 pounds (she's a nice and sturdy girl!)
  • Length: approx. 25 inches
